PCL 13: Anne’s Holiday (woohoo!)
Patient details:
Name: Anne
Age: 42 or above
Occupation: Nurse (requires standing for long hours in the surgical ward)
Smoker: Yes
Concerns: Overweight, long hours in air
Chief Complaint: Pain in left leg, walking eventually became a problem
Quality: Annoying, excruciating pain, so painful you can even put your leg on the floor
Associated symptoms: Swelling in the left leg
Lifestyle: Lack of physical exercise
Differential Diagnosis:
• DVT
• Compartment syndrome (no trauma)
• Varicose veins
• Elephantitis
• Sickle cell anemia
